myself as I care for my clients. I received my Yoga Alliance teaching certification in 2002 through the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies in Wichita, Kansas.
In 2002 I moved to Brooklyn and furthered my education at the Swedish Institute.
There I received an Associates of Occupational Studies Degree in Massage Therapy and my New York State Licensure in October of 2004.
Working as a massage therapist in New York has brought wonderful opportunities and challenges to my practice. In October of 2005 I joined the Chopra Center and Spa at their new location in NYC. On staff there I take part in an ongoing study and practice of Aryuveda, a 5ooo year old holistic approach to health from India.
Through my experience and education I have developed a comfort with tailoring specific treatments, not only for each person who comes for treatment, but also for each treatment that they receive.
My techniques include:
-
» Swedish Massage (gentle, relaxing, good for circulation)
- » Deep Tissue Massage
- » Reflexology (pressure point work of the feet)
- » Myofascial Massage (address chronic muscle tightness)
- » Shiatsu (Eastern approach to accupressure massage)
- » Ayurvedic Massage (Specific warm herbalized oil and techniques for your mind-body type)
