My Values on Health and Healing
My values as they relate to health are basic, accessible, and focus on things people do every day: eating, sleeping, breathing, and moving. I also place high priority on helping my patients harmonize work, family, social/community, personal relationships, and self-accomplishment.
I advocate
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nutrition, eating at the same times every day, and making sure meal times are peaceful and unhurried. Six to eight hours per night of good quality, uninterrupted sleep is another necessity. Breathing fresh air feeds the body, and is just as important as proper nutrition.
Breathing exercises such as those found in
Qi Gong practice and
Yoga are fundamental parts of a healthy lifestyle, as the relieve the often unnoticed stresses of daily life, relax the mind, and rejuvenate the entire body by bathing the blood in fresh oxygen.
Physical exercise is another key component to health. As people shift toward a healthful lifestyle, they find their desire and capacity for physical exercise increases.
The treatment environment is both immaculate and welcoming because it serves as a sanctuary of healing practices and a refuge from the stresses of daily life. Making a commitment to a time schedule of treatment sessions is also very important, particularly when there is a disease or syndrome that needs to be fixed.
I place a very high value on healthful behaviors. This value directly refers to herbal formulas, supplements such as vitamins, therapeutic exercises, nutritional guidelines, and imparting the correct utilization methods for these tools. Finally, instilling the desire for and wherewithal to cultivate a healthful lifestyle is my main goal in terms of healing. Once this value is embraced, all of the other parts will come easily to the patient.
